Announcing An Endless Meeting Collective Process, Artistic Labor, and the Politics of Working Together

This fall, Vox Populi presents a multi-part project exploring collaboration as subject, form, and method. Through exhibitions, a curatorial residency, public programs, and a print manual, An Endless Meeting invites you to reflect on what it means to work together

For Vox’s 21st Annual Juried Exhibition, "here where the body knows it can hurt", we invite artwork in conversation with labor histories/ ritual gathering/ agriculture/ gastronomy/ sensory heritage/ beekeepers/ hospitality trades/ industry/ Reinvigoration/ the shape of stamina/ Open to the Book of Genesis/ make some edits/ What does inheritance taste like?/ biological ceremony/ The absurdity (perhaps) of ordering a latte at a time such as this one.

Combining CCTV footage, subterranean sewer camsM, and intimate vignettes of the people who keep the city clean, In Excess traces the journey of Philadelphia’s trash as it flows onto a surprising global path. Along the way, it reveals hidden ecosystems of waste management and the unexpected ways discarded materials resurface long after they’ve been thrown away.

BLACKnet artist collective’s exhibition, Chopped Slopped Screwed, is an immersive multi-channel video installation that samples and combines the imagined worlds of its members; Zante Moore, Shori “Halie” Sims, and Logan Crompton. As post internet and meme concerned artists the collective often finds themselves ideating on the many forms a post internet society may take, and what space Black people occupy within it. In a world where Black images are commodified in an attention driven economy what does it mean for artists to reclaim and superimpose themselves in both digital and irl spaces?

Vox Populi Gallery is hosting a fundraiser show for radical Philly education project W.E.B. Du Bois Movement School for Abolition and Reconstruction-- lovingly known as Abolition School -- in support of their ongoing political education program.

Vox Populi is accepting applications for our Curatorial Residency, part of the citywide Collective Futures festival and Vox’s project An Endless Meeting: Collective Process, Artistic Labor, and the Politics of Working Together. We invite a curatorial pair,  two artists/curators from a DIY space, artist-run initiative, or collective located at least 50 miles outside of Philadelphia to participate in a one-month residency in August–September 2026.

Introducing Collective Futures — a citywide celebration of Philadelphia’s vibrant ecosystem of artist-run spaces, DIY venues, and community-driven art initiatives.
