Vox Populi is now accepting submissions for the fifth anniversary of our annual juried fundraiser, Wood Nickel: A $99 Exhibition, from now until September 27, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
We invite artists living within 90 miles of Philadelphia to donate artwork measuring exactly 8 x 10 inches to be shown and sold at Vox Populi from December 4–20, 2026. All proceeds go directly toward supporting Vox Populi’s programming and operations.
Wood Nickel: A $99 Exhibition is an anti-auction that levels the playing field for artists and collectors alike. All artworks are the same size, all priced at $99, and artist names are revealed only after purchase.
Participating artists will be featured in the exhibition alongside local and national contributors, included on Vox Populi’s website and social media, and receive a free drink ticket to the preview event on December 2, 2026, 6–8 PM. You’ll also have the chance to connect directly with local collectors and supporters of independent art.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the $99 Exhibition. Over the past five years, the exhibition has raised thousands of dollars that have been reinvested directly into Philadelphia’s arts community through exhibitions, public programs, artist support, and the ongoing work of sustaining an independent, artist-run space.
For nearly 40 years, Vox Populi has provided space, resources, and visibility to hundreds of artists through exhibitions, performances, and events. We are a volunteer-run collective of artists working in partnership with our Executive Director to sustain a thriving creative community. All funds raised through Wood Nickel: A $99 Exhibition will directly support our work, from artist honorariums and First Fridays to maintenance and programming.

// This is a fundraising exhibition. By submitting, you agree to donate your work to Vox Populi. Unsold work may be picked up December 20–22, 2026 or permanently donated to Vox.
// Artists may submit up to two pieces.
// All works must measure exactly 8 x 10 inches and arrive unframed, unless the frame is an essential part of the artwork.
// Accepted mediums include, but are not limited to: painting, drawing, photography, monoprints, sketches, sculpture, and conceptual pieces. Video works cannot be accommodated.
// Please sign only the back of your work or leave it unsigned.
// Artists must live within a 90-mile radius of Philadelphia and are responsible for transporting or shipping work to and from the gallery within the set timeline.
// All works must be ready to install. If installation instructions are required, please include them.
// Vox Populi reserves the right to photograph accepted work for publicity and educational purposes and to reject work that materially differs from submitted images.
// While at the gallery, work is insured in line with Vox Populi’s policy. Artists are responsible for insurance during transit. Please keep in mind that our space is high-traffic and DIY in nature when submitting work.
