Announcing: Black Box Presents — Arts in Action

Vox Populi is excited to announce Black Box Presents: Arts in Action, a yearlong media screening and discussion series exploring the role of the arts in supporting movements for social change. Made possible through lead support from the People’s Media Fund, the series will unfold across four public programs in 2026.

Presented in collaboration with community partners Asian Americans United, SEAMAAC, Hot Bits, and Batikh Batikh, Arts in Action brings together artists, organizers, and community members for shared learning and dialogue. Each program will feature films and media presented by artists and community organizers, alongside facilitated conversations addressing urgent issues including immigrant justice, queer liberation, health access, and community self-determination.

By centering community-led storytelling as a catalyst for organizing, the series highlights how cultural spaces can strengthen networks, spark conversation, and build collective power. Arts in Action will culminate in a community forum and the release of a freely accessible arts-and-social-change toolkit, sharing strategies and stories gathered throughout the year.

Join us in the Black Box as we launch this new series and stay tuned for upcoming programs.
