Annual Appeal 2025 is Live
Our 2025 Annual Appeal is Live - Consider Making an End of Year Contribution
At Vox Populi, we believe that artists and communities thrive together. Whether you’ve joined us for an opening, attended a performance, or simply believe in the importance of arts spaces; your support sustains the vibrant, experimental spirit that defines Vox.
As 2025 draws to a close, we’re reflecting on a remarkable year of creative exchange and growth. Vox featured 226 artists across 18 visual arts exhibitions, including a group show welcoming eight new collective members and our 20th annual juried exhibition, first, next, then, finally, featuring 40+ artists curated by Vox member Lane Timothy Speidel. Other highlights include my heart makes my head swim., developed by Philadelphia-based curator mai eltahir, which paired works by Jonathan González and Karyn Olivier, as well as solo exhibitions by our Artists in Residence, Rex Delafkaran and Angel Cabrales. Now in its second year, the residency has grown into one of Vox’s most exciting programs, drawing over 100 applicants and connecting us with a national community of artists eager to share new ideas and practices with Philadelphia audiences.
A major highlight of the year has been the growth of Vox’s Black Box and community partnership programs, which have made our performance and screening space a hub for collaboration across Philadelphia’s creative communities. Supported by the William Penn Foundation, Black Box Presents welcomed 12 community arts organizations—including All Mutable, South Philly Autonomous Cinema, and Batikh Batikh—to curate monthly events open and free to the public. Alongside this series, Vox hosted more than 90 public events featuring over 300 artists and collaborators, activating the space with new performances, films, conversations, and gatherings. Through these efforts, we’ve continued to open our doors and share our resources with local presenters, performers, and organizers, ensuring that Vox remains a place where artists can take risks, experiment freely, and connect with new audiences.
As we look ahead to 2026, Vox is proud to serve as a lead organizer and convener of the citywide Collective Futures Festival, a six-week celebration of Philadelphia’s artist-run and community-centered spaces. Building on our long history of collaboration, Vox has played a central role in shaping the festival’s vision, structure, and partnerships. Our contribution, An Endless Meeting, will feature four exhibitions, a curatorial residency, and a print manual exploring how collectives organize, envision, and make art together. It’s an ambitious project, one that extends Vox’s nearly four-decade legacy of artist-led experimentation and our ongoing commitment to sustaining Philadelphia’s artist-run ecosystem.
Your support makes all of this possible. As Vox grows and takes on ambitious new projects, your contributions ensure we can continue paying artists fairly, sustaining community partnerships, and keeping our programs financially accessible to all. Every gift—no matter the size—directly fuels the artists and ideas shaping Philadelphia’s creative future.
Please consider making an end-of-year donation to Vox Populi today. Together, we can continue nurturing the artists and ideas that keep Philadelphia’s creative community thriving.
