Kat Nzingha
Kat Nzingha (it/its) is a transmutational entity.
It conjures transhuman beings, spiritual entities, and ancestral apparitions of black culture: past, present, and future. Through sound, visual languages, and multidisciplinary experimentalist practices, Kat Nzingha’s work transforms spaces by capturing the physical, overlapping realities that continually construct themselves, allowing them to remain porous to worlds that remain unrevealed. Digital and analog technologies are its instruments for developing these multidimensional crossings. Performance and sound offers Kat Nzingha a body through which it can appear, mutate, communicate, and disappear. These entities inhabit dimensions beyond the immediately perceptible, provoking encounters with spiritual worlds that exist between, beneath, and beyond our own existence.
