Kiera Faber
Kiera Faber’s (Luxembourger/American, MFA Visual Studies) award winning works are exhibited in retrospectives, film festivals, galleries, and museums worldwide. Her work embraces the different modalities of film, photography, textiles, and drawing; admiring the strengths in multiplicity and weaving connections amidst perceived disparities. She builds surreal worlds; fusing the known with the unknown, confounding what is real or imagined, and realizing the mystical other in metaphoric allegories. Faber revels in ephemerality and implied transient narratives while simultaneously seeking material tactility, yearned permanence, and being physically present in an uncertain world. She is a two-time Jerome Foundation grantee and was awarded a Fellowship in Media Arts from the McKnight Foundation with a retrospective screening at the Walker Art Center Cinema, honoring her visionary creations that challenge audiences.
