We Call The Moon The People's Wife: Live Performance & Panel Discussion

We Call The Moon The People's Wife: Live Performance & Panel Discussion

at Pentimenti

This public program brings together a group of Vox Populi artists for a collaborative, improvised performance reflecting on the collective process behind their shared painting project. The performance will combine a collage-like soundscape of found audio, live readings of reflections written during the making of the work, and real-time drawing projected overhead. Moving between sound, text, and image, the piece offers an intimate glimpse into the negotiations, frictions, and generative exchanges that shape collective artistic production.

Following the performance, Blanche Brown, Executive Director of Vox Populi, and Christine Pfister, Director of Pentimenti, will join a panel discussion on Philadelphia’s arts ecosystem—from artist-run spaces to commercial galleries—and how these infrastructures support and sustain creative communities. The conversation will be moderated by Emily Bielawski.

Light refreshments will be served.
