ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

Puking Up Flowers is a collection of new works on paper by Charles Hobbs. Following intuition and compulsion, this work explores fantastical distortion of reality through stream-of-consciousness visions, including anthropomorphic geology, bombed villages, sea monsters, and apocalyptic prophesies. The resulting imagery is both familiar and odd: colorful and meticuolous water color and ink regurgitations of current events, the artist’s experience, passing interests and random thoughts.
