Philadelphia Book Launch for Leah Flax Barber's new book, The Mirror of Simple Souls who wrote this book over a few years, mostly in Western Massachusetts, out of many sources: Beguine spirituality, saturnalian imagery, commedia dell’arte, Old Hollywood apocrypha, Kate Bush and Lou Reed lyrics, and the melancholy dialectics of Walter Benjamin.

About the Artists

Leah Flax Barber is the author of The Mirror of Simple Souls, which was published in May from Winter Editions. Recent writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Harper's, Conjunctions, and Cleveland Review of Books. She lives in Chicago.

Bridget Talone is the Author of The Soft Life (Wonder), and lives in Philadelphia. Recent work has appeared or is forthcoming in BOMB, 9 Poems, and Annulet. 

Kai Ihns lives and works in Chicago. She's the author of two books of poems, most recently Of (The Elephants, 2024).
