Survive the night with Dusky Projects at the screening showcase that celebrates short horror films written, directed, or produced by Black women. The Black Girl Lives features the work of femme horror filmmakers and a call ‘n’ response style Q&A with Stephanie Watts of Be Reel Black Cinema Club. Check out our vendors beforehand to get some cleansing palo santo from Cora Scents, or a reading from Astral Botanica. Don’t be scurred!

All proceeds go to the Black/Latine independently run Dusky Projects, and the artists who made this event possible.

About the Artists

Gabe Castro (She/They/Ella/Ellas) is the director for Ghouls films, Lola Award Winner, as well as many other side hustles such as the Cammy Award Winning web series, Tribbles After Dark.

Stephanie Malson is a multi-hyphenate creative producer who is drawn to the mediums of writing, moving image, and photography. Her journey is forever unfolding.

Destiny Cox is an Afro-Gothic Horror filmmaker, producer, and storyteller dedicated to crafting films that challenge perspectives on history, displacement, and survival. She creates Afro-Gothic Horror/Thriller that tells authentic stories and engages audiences in discussions about the intersections of environmental racism and systemic injustice. 

Eunice Levis is a Dominican American writer-director and immersive storyteller whose work spans science fiction, horror, and drama. An AFI DWW+ alum, Tribeca Vital Stories Fellow, and Agog XR Creators Lab Fellow, her award-winning films have screened internationally, with work distributed by Netflix, DUST, and Aspire TV.
