This August, come join cinéSPEAK and Vox Populi for two screenings of Siobhan McCarthy’s She’s the He!
She’s the He! is a Queer coming of age comedy about two friends graduating high school. Ethan and Alex pose as trans women to dodge rumors of being gay. . It's all a joke until Ethan realizes: she really is trans. Navigating changing friendship dynamics, coming out, and the intricacies of Queer identity, She’s the He! laughs at gender constructs and shows what it means to come of age as a trans woman.
Doors open at Vox Populi at 6:30, the first screening is at 7 the second at 9. Stick around after for a brief discussion with special guests!
*Please note that although our gallery spaces have window units installed, Vox does not have central air conditioning and our black box theater is warm in the summer months.
