¡QUBA! Is a documentary about Cuba’s extraordinary journey toward LGBTQ equality, culminating in one of the most unexpected civil rights victories of the 21 st century –the historic 2022 referendum that legalized same-sex marriage and adoption.
This film traces the decades-long struggle of activists who turned a revolution within the Revolution into reality. Following the film, director Kim Anno will join us in conversation! Kim is a filmmaker and artist whose work has been screened and exhibited around the world. She worked on ¡QUBA! for 7 years, traveling to the island 8 times to complete it. She currently lives and works in Berkeley, California.
