ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

catia colagioia‍ (PURIST) ‍is an artist, researcher, and musician born, raised, and based in South Philadelphia, with a BA in Fine Art from the University of Pennsylvania. She has shown work across Philadelphia in venues such as Vox Populi Gallery, Pentimenti Gallery, Icebox Project Space, AUTOMAT, and more. She has also been recognized for her post-disciplinary, public-facing, community-oriented work. She is currently an artist member of Vox Populi Gallery & Da Vinci Art Alliance. colagioia’s process is rooted in her traversal of Philadelphia, in her collection and resurrection of found objects and memories, often likening organic forms in the cityscape to our bodies: both held tenuously, and subject to the encircling pressures of modern systems. She applies care, repair, and automatism as methodologies, instinctually relating and tending closely to the desires of the objects she uses.

China Rain Chung is a writer and multidisciplinary artist studying reality building.

ọmọlolú Refilwe Bàbátúndé (ọrB) (shx/they) is a multimedia artist rooted in sound who makes sonic ritual works that explore recovery, becoming, and breaking into affirming possibilities. Her practice is concerned with how Black sound moves through, connects, and shifts space/time. Through looping, harmonization, instrumentation, field recordings, and sampling, they explore the power of repetition, mantra-making, and collective breathing as ways to propel those who listen through the cycles and deepening of our becoming. In their practice, they also explore video, image, archival work, prose, and performance as ways to activate, visualize, and embody the sonic encounters they strive to expose. Shx received the inaugural Mexican Summer Recording Studio Residency in July 2022 and has performed/shown work at Leslie Lohman Museum of Art, Northstar Durham, The Free Black Women’s Library, All Souls NYC, The New Musethem, SPACES (Cleveland), and many intentional DIY venues. In October 2020 shx released hxr first EP “laiii 222 rest ooo: blx ancestral sonix salves” on Don Giovanni Records, and hxr debut album, “the only way is thr(u)” was released March 13th 2026.

Robert David Carey is a writer, teacher, and organizer currently based in Philadelphia, though he has lived many places and worked many jobs.
