K-HOLE: an Evening of Film, Poetry, and Music

Presented by Dysphoria Dimes and exploding.grrl

May 3rd, 2026, 6pm, : $10-15 sliding scale

A screening of DMOFF and Stockholm City Film Festival award winning “K-HOLE,” a short film in which a mid-20s trans sex worker, Khloe, searches for her missing best friend, Sara, in a drug fueled haze of friends and clients. Following the screening a Q+A featuring writer/director Chris Hale and Exec producer Maxelle Talena. Opening the event, performances by Adaa, Lust Orchid, and a poetry reading by Maxelle Talena.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Chris Hale (she/her) is a filmmaker, poet, and storyteller exploring the humour, fear, and love in the many intersectional aspects of contemporary trans life. Her work on finding trans beauty in the rainbow slick of Europe’s oil capital has been published in many journals, and films K-HOLE and LESBIAN VAMPIRE SEEKING JEWISH LOVER have screened across the world.

Maxelle Talena is a multidisciplinary, self taught artist from Brooklyn, NY. She is a high school dropout, former drug addict, and recovering hardcore kid. Along with @consider.theft, she is half of the podcast Dysphoria. Her work deals with gender & sexuality, addiction, and the joy and pain of growing up in New York City.

Nelly Connor is a trans multimedia performance artist her work ties ritualistic fervour and cathartic anguish into an embrace of pure dehumanised queer expression.
