Dog Funeral - Presented by Zoe Wohlfeld

Friday, March 13, 2026 | Doors: 7PM | Show: 7:30PM | PWYC (Suggested Donation - $10) | Tickets Here

Take the “fun” out of “funeral” and throw the rest away!

Zoe Wohlfeld is holding a funeral for her childhood dog, Twinkles. Dressed in Victorian mourning garb and ready to cry on command, she’s here to teach you how to properly perform your grief. All she wants is your sympathy, your tears, and a goddamn glass of wine (please). Sadness is Zoe’s passion and Twinkles was Zoe’s best friend, so join the solemn ceremony and let her teach you how to pay respects with the big boys (may they rest in peace).

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Zoe Wohlfeld (writer/performer) is a classical actor turned clown. She worked regionally in classical theatre (Olney Theatre Center, Shakespeare & Company) until 2020, then moved to France in 2022 to study at École Philippe Gaulier. After earning her certificate from Gaulier, she moved to London and began creating her own work with her partner, Jack. Together, they created the live-directed melodrama clown show A Night of Drama, which has had sold-out performances in New York, London, and three years running at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The show has been presented at the London Clown Festival at Soho Theatre, with Underbelly at Edinburgh Fringe—where they were featured on the BBC’s Edinburgh Unlocked with Miriam Margoyles, and at Liebenspiel’s Weekend of Weird at Brighton Fringe.

Dog Funeral is Zoe’s debut solo show, which has had work-in-progress performances in London, including with Bighead Comedy’s Early Days Festival, at Ventnor Fringe Festival, and in residency with The Foundry in West Stockbridge, MA. Additionally, she has taught clown classes for adults and children. She holds a BA in Theatre & Performance from Bard College and is an alum of the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.

Jack Grossman (writer/director) is a clown director and performer. He discovered clown while living in Los Angeles and producing guerrilla comedy shows out of his apartment. He is a reasonably proud dropout of UCLA’s Chemistry and Materials Science Program and an alum of École Philippe Gaulier in France. Together with his partner, Zoe, he created the live-directed melodrama clown show A Night of Drama (in which he is the titular live director). The show has had sold-out performances in New York, London, and three years running at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It has been presented at the London Clown Festival at Soho Theatre, with Underbelly at Edinburgh Fringe—where they were featured on the BBC’s Edinburgh Unlocked with Miriam Margolyes—and at The Weekend of Weird at Brighton Fringe. Additionally, he has taught clown classes for adults and children, as well as melodrama classes for adults.
