Vox boasts the addition of eleven new artists, many who come to us from other local spaces and organizations such as Andrew Suggs, employee of old neighbor The Fabric Workshop, Jamie Dillon and Nick Paparone, both friends and neighbors from Copy Gallery and Print Liberation. Also among our newest members, presenting photography and experimental video work, are Kara Crombie, Julianna Foster, James Johnson, Anna Neighbor, Jonathan Prull and Brent Wahl. The not quite so traditional figurative and abstract paintings from artists Josh Rickards and Andrew James round out Vox's distinguishable character. Each new artist brings their distinctive flavor to Vox Populi this month showing new work across media, from illustrative oil painting to experimental video. This exciting exhibition ends our 2006-2007 exhibition season and proudly demonstrates our ever changing, dynamic team of Philadelphia's freshest emerging artists.
In addition, the 11 new members are creating a set of multiples of original pieces, consisting of photographs, prints, objects, and a book. The edition of 10 will be for sale and on display at our opening reception on August 3rd.
